As the race for the presidential seat continues to gather momentum, the people of Nasarawa state have been advised to give their full support to the recumbent president, Goodluck Jonathan to be the next president again come 2011.
The co-ordinator of President Goodluck Jonathan in Nasarawa state comes 2011 presidential election, Nasarawa state House of Assembly member, chairman Hon Philip Aruwa Gunka gave the advice while speaking with newsmen in his constituency Akwanga over the upcoming presidential elections of the People Democratic Party (PDP).
According to him, with the track record of the president and his nationalistic approach he is the best person to be entrusted with the mandate of presidential seat and a leadership to the people of Nigeria.
Hon Philip Aruwa Gyunka contended that the high experience of President Goodluck Jonathan in politics and his detribalized posture as well as sound education and social background are good credentials enough to convince the people to support his aspiration to the presidential seat.
Hon Philip Aruwa Gyunka further contended that with the steady growth of the country's democracy the need to send people with a high degree of competency, proven integrity as well as nationalistic posture that could be able to contribute meaningfully to the serious debates becomes highly imperative.
“infact with the attainment of our democracy to the maturity stage the need to have competent, virile versatile and people with nationalistic approach in the leadership of the country becomes highly imperative” he further contended.
The co-ordinator who congratulated the president, Goodluck Jonathan for the remarkable success he has recorded in delivery the dividends of democracy to the people of Nigeria expressed the satisfaction that the numerous achievements put in place are still serving the people.
He specifically mentioned mega stations all over the country, among other.
Other achievements he noted include the electoral reform and the sympathy to the Nigerian civil services for the increment of their salaries and power is part of his next thing to do for Nigeria as well as the creation of an enabling environment for the development of business and commercial activities and free flow of investment opportunities of the country.
The state Assembly member who was highly elected with the level of peaceful co-existence unity and harmony that prevailed in the president Goodluck Jonathan first tenure such feat to his all embracing posture which ensures that all the people were carried along in the scheme of things irrespective of their tribal, religious and social backgrounds thus pave way for peace and development in the whole the country.

Hon. | Doma Inaugurates Task Force On Sanitation |

Gov. Aliyu Doma of Nasarawa State has approved the appointment of a 16-member Special Task Force on sanitation.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Timothy Anjide, in Lafia recently, said the task force was constituted with a view to improving the Greater Karu environment.
The statement said that the task force would be chaired by Retired Grp. Capt. Tanko Auta.
It said that members were drawn from the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), the Police and the state Ministries of Health and Information.
Others were from relevant agencies, market women groups and affected local governments and development areas.
The task force is charged with the responsibility to ensure a cleaner environment at the Greater Karu, purchase waste bins and sell them to the public and place refuse bins at strategic locations, among others.
The statement was however, silent on the status of the state's sanitation board, which had the mandate to carry out such activities given to the task force.
