Senator Eseme Eyiboh, Chairman Media and Public Affairs, House of Representatives said that the committee on Finance at the National Assembly has found that Customs alone kept un remitted funds and revenue met for Federal Government amounting to 3.6 Trillion Naira. He counted this as one of the achievement recorded in the House.
According to this achievement, some members of the public who benefitted from the loots decided to castigate the House by either sponsored petitions against the officials of the House or embark on character assassination, “The intension of the Petitioners are to distract public attention, we will not sleep over this, we shall continue to do our good work” Eyiboh opined.
Eyiboh who represent Eket Federal Constituency in the House told Newsmen recently that Nigerians have to differentiate between Politics and Governance.
He said the House Committee on Oil is investigating oil industries. Directorate for Petroleum Resources (DPR) saying that it does not know the number of oil blocks allocated to it.

“The body, (DPR) does not know how much was paid, Ministry of Finance is given different figures and all that, this is because we have stepped up our constitutional responsibility of oversight functions and some people who benefits from these abnormalities are not happy with us hence their efforts to cause disaffection in the House”.
They said, “Bankole must go so that Nigeria would continue to be a dinning table for these “Burkanias”, where our children will no longer go to schools, where public institutions are collapsed, where money appropriated for infrastructural interventions is found in private pocket, where hospitals are mere consulting places, where people found it difficult to account for public funds”.
Consequently, Eyiboh noted that the present House has come to realize that the problems plaguing this country and development of democracy is the conflict of Politics and Governance, “We now decided to serve governance, governance is for the generality of the people, whereas politics is primordial, we have choosing the part of governance, all of us in the House.
Senator Eyiboh narrated that last year, one million Nigerians took JAMB, only 19% were admitted into Universities, nobody raised any question on what happened to other percentage, where are there, we now have institutions where people graduates but cannot get jobs, where workers don't get pension when retired. “We need to embark on revolutions that do not need blood but dynamic movement” he suggests.
