The Akwa Ibom State Government has procured 97 Mini Mills for distribution to various co-operatives societies across the state in a bid to enhance the well being of the people.
The Special Adviser, Bureau for Cooperative Development Barr. Saviour Udo disclosed this when the National President and members of CommonWealth of Niger Delta States (COWENDS) Peace initiative paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
Barr. Udo who applauded the giant strides of the Akpabio led Administration for creating wealth as well as ensuring peace in Akwa Ibom State, advised the youths to shun acts capable of truncating the development strides of the present Administration which according to him, no meaningful progress can be achieved in an atmosphere of chaos.
The state cooperatives boss said COWENDS' initiative in is to ensuring that peace is the order of the day in the Niger Delta region saying the move is in line with the present administration's vision on entrenching peace in the region.
The Special Adviser also spoke of his determination to touch the lives of the people of the state through its various programmes and assured the organization of his support to enable them achieve their set goals.
The National President of the organization, Captain Mezeke Wilis said they were in Akwa Ibom to officially inform the Special Adviser on the numerous programmes of the organization geared towards bringing lasting peace to the Niger Delta Region.
Captain Wilis particularly thanked Akwa Ibom State governments for their efforts at enhancing the living standard of the citizenry and appealed to the people of the Niger Delta to work in Union so as to tackle the enormous problems of the region.
